So we’ve talked quite a bit about Dr. Davis joining our team at the end of this month. We’re getting really excited! He has completed his residency with flying colors and is going to start working with us next week!
Since we announced his joining the practice I’ve had a few questions that are worthy of answering in a broader format in case anyone else is curious, so here we go:
Why am I bringing on a new doctor?
Thanks to our patients and local dentists continuing to show faith in us by referring new patients our way, our practice has grown quite a bit over the last few years. I’ve been an orthodontist for 15 years now, and I continue to be honored by the faith the community has shown in what we do by sending friends and family our way. You know me and understand that commitment to quality care in a welcoming atmosphere is what makes this place so special. To continue to provide these in a growing practice means I need a teammate who shares these goals. Matt Davis is just the person to help me do this.
With two doctors working together we can continue to focus on the best patient care possible and continue to welcome new patients to the office with confidence that things will still be done the right way.
Am I retiring? How long are you going to be around?!
Ha! I’m 43 years old and have two girls in middle school. I may be bald and can’t hit a golf ball as long as I used to, but I’m going to be working for many more years. This stuff is just too much fun!
What will be changing with the office?
In some ways, nothing; in other ways, everything.
What I mean by this is you will have the same, if not better, experience for you or your children. One thing I pride myself in is the ability to change the way I do things to continue to have a leading edge orthodontic practice right here in Northwest Arkansas. Many years ago we were the first office to commit to esthetic orthodontic treatment for our patients. Last year we were the first office, to my knowledge, to rid ourselves of the sticky impression and convert to 3D technology. Additionally, along with a collegue, we’re developing a method of bracket placement utilizing computer guided technology that we’re hoping will change the way orthodontists work in the future. Adding an experienced and talented doctor to the team is just an extension of this effort.
Who gets to see the new guy/Who has to see the old guy?
Everyone! Dr. Davis and I will be diagnosing, treatment planning, and treating all patients together. I have years of experience that he will benefit from, and he has the benefit of graduating from a leading university having been trained in the latest orthodontic techniques from some of the best orthodontists I know. You’d be surprised to hear the praises he’s been given from university professors when I had personal talks with them last fall. We’ll both be working together in the same office at the same time, learning from each other and using that knowledge to treat our patients.
Like I said last week: I can’t wait!
